With the new year, we are starting to re-evaluate the services we offer to ensure we are able to continue to be here for a long time. As part of this we are looking at what services we offer and seeing what users are using and what they are not. While looking at all our services, we noticed that the server’s utilization and bandwidth utilization on FuzzySearx which is our SearXNG instance has been next to nothing. That said we have decided to retire FuzzySearx and focus on other services that are more utilized. We will be retiring FuzzySearx on January 31st, 2024 and will no longer be accessible…

With the shutdown of FuzzySearx we want to help point people at some great other options that are out there.

• SearX - A directory of SearXNG instances where you can find and pick one that works for you.
• Kagi - (Our personal pick) Paid privacy focused search engine that has its own index but also leverages the big search engines to fill their custom index.
• Startpage - A privacy focused search engine that uses Google’s results.
• DuckDuckGo - A privacy focused search engine that uses Bing’s results.
