SearXNG instance

With the shutdown of Neeva, I realized that there isn’t an option I am totally happy with using for protecting my search results and not having ads shoved into all my results as well. So I have decided to spin up an instance of SearXNG which is an open-source meta search engine that is designed to protect your privacy and run searches against the other big search engines and return the results to you. This means that you can use it to search Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and many other search engines all at once and get the results back in a nice clean interface.

There will be some cost to this on our end, currently it looks to be running us a total of roughly $4.07/month to run the server it is on in Germany. However, it may end up costing us a bit more depending on the usage levels and us needing to purchase proxies for it to use to run the searches. But for now, this seems like a great addition to our line up of privacy respecting services. As always, completely free for the public to use and without any trackers, ads, or other nonsense. Just go to https://fuzzysearx.com and start searching. If you wanna donate to help us fund this, you can do so on our donate page.

As always, I appreciate you all and the lovely work you all do to help me make the services we offer to everyone better. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me on Mastodon or Matrix.
